
MR. TYRONE CUTKELVIN

Tyrone Cutkelvin is a dedicated advocate for educational equity and economic empowerment, serving as the Educational Equity Programs Director for Los Angeles. In this role, he addresses the holistic needs of students and alumni by advancing education, fostering economic opportunities, building career pathways, and cultivating the next generation of leaders.
Previously, Tyrone served as the Director of Special Projects for the Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI), overseeing the Urban Scholars Alumni Program and The Fellowship Initiative (TFI). Prior to SJLI, he was the Job Placement Liaison at Brotherhood Crusade, supporting workforce development for underserved communities.
With 18 years of leadership experience in the banking industry, Tyrone has held roles including branch management and Los Angeles site lead for JPMorgan Chase’s Black Organization for Leadership Development (BOLD). His corporate career intersected with his passion for mentorship in 2015 when he began volunteering with TFI while coaching a local basketball team. These experiences ignited his commitment to helping young Black and Brown males thrive academically, professionally, and personally.
Tyrone holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Belize and a master’s degree in business administration from American InterContinental University. His work is fueled by an unwavering dedication to empowering young people of color to reach their full potential and become leaders in their communities.
